An Awesome EOS London Meetup

Awesome is a word that’s very often overused and has since lost its meaning. The EOS London meetup was awesome in the truest sense of the word. EOS42 did an amazing job of bringing together a whole host of people from around the world and organising a great line-up for the evening’s event.

Sharif, two steps ahead as always, booked a 12-seater meeting room at the WeWork where the event was taking place. A space for anyone attending to hang out throughout the day. First thing in the morning, we thought that we’d perhaps been a bit ambitious in booking such a large room, although after just a few hours we were chatting away with a bunch of like-minded people.

Personally, one of the best aspects of the day was being able to put faces to Telegram handles! From all the chats, phone calls and hangouts that have been going on over the last few months, it was so nice to meet in person. It was almost like meeting a group of old friends. Conversation takes on a completely different form when you’re sitting across the table from each other, much more fluid, dynamic and meaningful. We also got to meet a whole host of new people, some names that I’ve seen popping up on Telegram now and again but hadn’t communicated with directly as well as completely new introductions.

Sharif from EOS Dublin with Larry from EOS Cannon

What was perhaps the most impressive and surprising part of the day was the EOS community members who had come from afar. Larry from EOS Cannon popped over from China for 2 days, Dallas from Credify just landed from Tokyo on his way to the USA, and some community members had even travelled from Spain and Barbados! Now that’s something very, very special!

Before this meetup, I knew that the EOS community was something special, the excitement and electricity surrounding the platform is palpable, but to be there in London, surrounded by such enthusiastic, creative and brilliant people was nothing short of magic. It’s a true testament to the potential of the platform.
